A MANIFEST FOR THE MOON

The Lunar Codex uses digital and analog technology to preserve art, books, music, and more, enclosed in time capsules and launched to the Moon. It is a message-in-a-bottle to the future.

Curatorial Notes

This section documents art and multimedia magazines that helped celebrate and pushed the boundaries of urban alternative and underground contemporary art.

Elegantly reckless, Gravity City magazine showcased a blend of gritty and futuristic art, was book-ended with interviews of rock icons and sci-fi auteurs, and laced with acerbic essays and short stories.

Birthed just before the pandemic, the magazine evoked the heart of Omni and Heavy Metal, and continues its incidental run as a digital original that captures the irreverent spirit of underground and alternative art.
